Robert Johnson, Strategic Consultant, COI

Robert Johnson COIRobert is a Strategic Consultant with the Central Office of Information (COI) specialising in internal engagement and change.  Over the past 5 years has worked with most central government departments and many of their agencies. He is currently working with the Cabinet Office on employee engagement in the Civil Service and the Learning and Skills Council on a campaign to embed sustainable development across the organisation.

In the past two years, as part of an EU support programme, he designed and ran a series of six internal communications and change workshops for senior managers in the Polish Civil Service in Warsaw. He has also worked with the Bosnian government improving internal communication processes for their Administration Reform Office in Sarajevo.

Robert joined COI in 2003 after working in communications with Quest International, a Food and Fragrance creative and manufacturing business. In Quest, he was responsible for internal and external communications for the introduction of enterprise resource planning in Quest’s Netherlands and mainland European Food operations.

Before Quest, Robert led the internal communications team for BT’s 60,000 strong Networks division from 1995 to 2000 – a key period in the development of new wave technologies and culture change for BT. Before moving into internal communications, Robert was HR Board Member for BT Payphones and previously HR Board Member for BT’s Kent and East Sussex District.
