Carl Billson, Task Force Business Consultant, UKCeB.org
carlbillson100x120Carl works for UKCeB (www.ukceb.org), an organization that provides a trusted forum on e-Business, bringing together companies from the aerospace & defence Supply Chain and the Ministry of Defence.  Social networking tools are increasingly becoming of interest as part of the knowledge management mix that is vital for complex products whose life-cyles span decades and involve extensive Support Chains.  This user community has particular demands on secure collaboration and sharing of sensitive information across organizations and countries and is using federated identity management in some cases (www.tscp.org).
Carl’s customer-facing roles in ICT have assisted organizations in realizing effective business change through the application of enabling technologies, including mobile data solutions in both private and public sectors.  His interests in innovative applications of technologies include creating the first educational software for Longmans publishers, a PDA prototype and co-authoring Ladybird books for children!  Recently, with his own company Flurysh, he’s provided consultancy services in Kiev and London for Ukrainian IT companies as part of an EU-funded project.
